Our Moon Our Sun Our Solar System Earth seems to be a name in a sense, but it's actually describing the solid ground rather than addressing it as a whole planet. Moons of other planets are not named "Moon". We identify the stars in other solar systems as "Suns", but we give them names as well. I believe solar systems often take on the name of the sun that they contain. Do we then call our own solar system, the Sun System?
